aespa Is Back — And It’s Been Worth the Wait

After nearly two years since their debut full-length album ‘Armageddon,’ SM Entertainment’s four-member powerhouse aespa is returning with their second studio album, ‘LEMONADE,’ on May 29, 2026. The anticipation is immense: aespa has delivered some of K-pop’s most distinctive sonic and conceptual output, from ‘Next Level’ to ‘Drama,’ ‘Supernova,’ and ‘Whiplash.’ Now, with LEMONADE, the group promises to expand both their signature metallic sound and their sprawling sci-fi universe.

What Is ‘LEMONADE’ About?

SM Entertainment has described LEMONADE as a continuation of aespa’s unique world-building narrative — a key element of the group’s identity since debut. The album is expected to further develop the group’s sonic identity and storytelling, building on the ae-universe lore that has captivated global fans. The title itself is a departure from the heavier, confrontational themes of past releases, hinting at a more multidimensional sonic range.

The album follows the pre-release single ‘Rich Man’ from September 2025 and marks a significant step forward in the group’s artistic evolution.

aespa’s 2026–27 World Tour: 25 Cities Worldwide

Alongside the album release, aespa has confirmed a global tour launching in August 2026, covering 25 cities worldwide. This will be their most ambitious touring schedule to date, following the massive success of their SYNK: aeXIS LINE Japan Dome Tour, which included sold-out shows at Tokyo Dome in April 2026. Specific city announcements are expected soon after the album release.

Why aespa Matters in 2026

In a May packed with girl group comebacks — including BABYMONSTER, NMIXX, ITZY, and LE SSERAFIM — aespa closing out the month on May 29 is a strategic choice by SM Entertainment. As the reigning ‘May Queen’ contenders, aespa carries some of the biggest global streaming and chart impact of any current K-pop act. Their ability to blend high-concept storytelling with floor-filling pop production makes LEMONADE one of the most anticipated releases of 2026.

Members Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning recently wrapped an impressive Japan tour and are entering this comeback on the strongest footing of their careers.
