TXT Makes K-pop History in Japan — Again
Tomorrow X Together (TXT) has achieved their ninth platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) with their eighth EP ‘7th Year: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns,’ label Big Hit Music confirmed this week. The certification marks surpassing 250,000 physical shipments in Japan — a remarkable achievement for a group that has consistently expanded their footprint in one of the world’s most competitive music markets.
The Record-Tying Oricon Achievement
Beyond the platinum certification, ‘7th Year’ topped Oricon’s Daily, Weekly, and Weekly Combined Album Rankings simultaneously. On the latter chart, TXT tied an existing record for the most albums by any artist to achieve this feat, with 14 total albums. This places TXT in elite company in Japanese music chart history, a remarkable milestone for a K-pop group only seven years into their career.
The EP has also topped the Oricon Weekly Combined Album Rankings — a chart that combines physical album sales and digital streaming — demonstrating the depth of TXT’s fanbase in Japan across multiple consumption formats.

About ‘7th Year: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns’
The eighth EP from TXT reflects the group’s ongoing artistic maturity. The title itself — ‘A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns’ — suggests a reflective, emotionally complex body of work fitting for a group entering their seventh year in the industry. TXT has consistently used their music to explore themes of youth, uncertainty, and growth, and this EP continues that tradition.
The five-member group — Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai — have built one of K-pop’s most dedicated international fanbases, called MOA (Moments of Alwaysness), who have propelled multiple albums to chart success across Asia and the West.
TXT’s Growing Legacy in Japan
This ninth platinum certification is the latest in a string of Japanese market successes for TXT. Their consistent chart performance in Japan, combined with sold-out arena and dome tours, positions them as one of the leading K-pop acts in the Japanese market — a market that remains crucial for long-term K-pop commercial success. With their Japanese fanbase growing year over year, TXT’s Japan story is far from over.
